Another Midtown Comics signing with none other than 4 creators including an amazing writer Brian K. Vaughan who’s been busy working on all sorts of projects with various publishers, Image Comics being one of them.  Even though this cover, signed by 4, is now sold out at Midtown Comics you can still find it in the secondary market like eBay. Don’t miss your chance to own this quad signed cover from Midtown Comics.

Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows

Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #1 – Signed by Mark Brooks

Another Midtown Comics signing with none other than Mark Brooks who’s an artist that’s been very busy working for Marvel.  I’m not a huge fan of The Amazing Spider-Man but Black Cat is always a fan favorite whenever it graces the cover.  Don’t miss your chance to own the signed version from Midtown Comics.

Millennium (TV) #1 Signed by Joe Harris

Recently Midtown Comics has been on a signing binge with Joe Harris creating 3 opportunities to snag a signed cover.  This cover from the Millennium series has our favorite X-Files characters Fox Mulder and Dana Scully tag-teaming with Frank Black doing what they do best.  Check out the still current series published by IDW Publishing and let me know how it is!

Transformers – My Exploits at Emerald City Comicon #ECCC

I had a fun time at ECCC and was able to get around to a bunch of writers and artists on the only day I was able to attend, Friday.  It definitely took some effort kindly pushing my way through the crowds in order to strategically place my books in front of the targets!

I’ll tell ya one thing the Transformers group was an awesome bunch of guys.  Livio Ramondelli was awesome and first on my Transformers signing list.  He was totally cool with me dropping a ton of comics in front of him so they could partake in the repetitive ritual of gracing his signature across each cover.  If you get a chance to meet him at a con don’t hesitate to stop by and definitely buy his artwork, I did!

Another Transformer guy that was cool about the small pile of comics to be signed was none other than Andrew Griffith.  For me it’s always kind of embarrassing to have more than 2 comics signed by one guy only cause I feel like I’m getting something for nothing.  I could be overreacting and I’m sure most are cool with it.  Any how kudos to Andrew and yeah I also bought some of his artwork as well in the form of his newly released Sketchbook #2.  Posted some pics of a few pages from the book and he even signed it, thanks man!

Finally I was able to find Ken Christiansen and even though he isn’t one of the mainstream Transformers series artist I still wanted him to sign a couple of his retailer incentive variants he worked on.  They seem to bring back nostalgic feelings of my Transformers youth and yes, a cool guy as well!

Any ways, thanks guys for signing my small pile of books and hope the series continues for many more.  By the way Combiner Wars is killing it so keep it up!

Chrononauts #1 – Signed by Sean Gordon Murphy (Midtown Comics)

Chrononauts #1

Chrononauts #1

Chrononauts #1 (1st Print) Signed by Sean Gordon Murphy

Another Midtown Comics signing with none other than Sean Gordon Murphy who’s an artist that’s been on fire as of late.  You should check out his Deviant Art site if you get a chance.  He has a bunch of old and upcoming covers for Chrononauts and past series.  I’ve read some reviews where praise is all they could offer for new new series he is coauthor on with Mark Millar.  I’ve also read some dismal reviews comparing it to nothing new and exciting, been done before, time travel, peeps with blond hair, made for Universal to pick up as a movie.

Any ways, I just read it and while the content has been done before and yeah the scientists are typical alpha males that seemingly can Macgyver the crap outta anything in a matter of minutes and still make out with the girl, it still was a fun ride.  There are aspects to the book that are worth exploring and with the placement of our main characters in the timeline it looks to be a fun ride.  Hell if they move through the centuries and create scenes that lead up to potential movie ideas done in real life (Back to the Future…saw an upcoming cover) then kudos to them!

Superman (Vol 4) #32 – Signed by John Romita, Jr. & Klaus Janson (Midtown Comics)

Superman Volume 4 #32

Superman Volume 4 #32 Signed by John Romita, Jr. & Klaus Janson

Another double signature score from Midtown Comics!  They usually appear on a blue moon and disappear in an instant.  I was lucky to score the regular cover with both signatures where as earlier I was able to get my hands on the Bombshell variant signed by both.  This one will go nicely in my collection and I’m proud to have had the opportunity to spend my money!  Now with issue #38 Superman is getting new powers, won’t that be interesting?  That cover alone is hard to find so happy hunting!

Great Pacific #1 – Signed by Joe Harris (Midtown Comics)

Great Pacific #1

Great Pacific #1 (1st Print) Signed by Joe Harris

Recently Midtown Comics has been on a signing binge with Joe Harris creating 3 opportunities to snag a signed cover.  The Great Pacific is a different kind of series that’s based off of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch but taking it a step further.  Actually how about taking it one giant step forward and creating a sovereign nation out of a much larger garbage heap.  Any ways, check out the still current series published by Image Comics.  It’s a different read and just may satisfy your craving for something not superhero related!

Chew / Revival Oneshot Front

Chew / Revival Oneshot Back

Chew / Revival One-shot Signed by Tim Seeley

I had ordered this a helluva long time ago from Midtown Comics finally receiving it a week ago.  Not Midtown’s fault, just the usual slowness from DF.  I did a full review of the comic and if you get a chance pick it up.  You’ll get a few good laughs out of the mash-up.
