Here are my personal choices for this weeks top 10 comic book covers. These covers got my attention and whether being good or bad are deserving of your attention as well, so here we go!
Not sure how a book with Aliens and Vampirella will mesh but apparently it’s something that has actually been green lit a now apart of this weeks releases. If you want to read a review for this new series then check out IGN’s here. That aside, Gabriel Hardman did a great job with the bleak looking oddball cover of the two main characters. Now with the holiday weekend already in full swing I didn’t get the chance to look up the cover artist for our next cover involving the Merc. Deadpool vs. Thanos #1 Retailer Summit 2015 variant made me laugh. Chimichangas and Dogpool, it really can’t get much better than that. For our next cover we have a series that I seriously have been dying to read, no pun intended. However the release has been slow at best and I’ve only been able to indulge in the first two rather large amazing issues. Why can’t Hickman focus on this more, oh yeah, he’s still with Marvel working on that Secret Wars event thing…Christ almighty that blows.
Imperium by Scot Eaton had great color and action galore. It was by far one of the more stand out covers for this release. The regular cover for Jem & the Holograms had an impressive amount of facial detail. Sophie Campbell created a master piece and where the lines ended the color filled in the gaps creating a very eye catching cover for IDW Publishing. Lady Death Apocalypse #0 seems to be another first issue for a new series release. Along with the new series are about a gazillian covers of the white eyed beauty. Out of all of them the regular cover by Carlos Valenzuela was the most pleasing to the eyes as she’s drawn proportionally well compared to others. Damn that ghoul in Swords of Sorrow Red Sonja looks pretty intimidating don’t you think? Toil and Trouble is yet another new release from Boom Studios. I really enjoyed the cleanly drawn covers for this brand new series. The virgin variant by Haemi Jang was beautifully crafted and by far one of the best covers this week. Finally a cover that tugged at my heart string from utter cuteness was Agnes Garbowska’s Transformers MTMTE incentive variant cover. Yes I’m a huge Transformers fan and yes I’m totally biased with it comes to any Transformers series, oh yeah baby covers, but seriously come on! You know I’m right!
So that’s this weeks top 10 most fascinating, eye catching, crazy looking comic book covers that I could find. If you see any rare variants that you plan on searching for then good luck and happy hunting!
